My favorite Slides
I have a side passion project that includes shoes. You’ll see more about that in upcoming posts but for now, let me introduce you to my favorite slides. Oh, and one of my favorite Pomeranians.
Slides can be sporty, recovery, or fashion. I love all the options. You can add more personality with socks, which is definitely an acquired taste. You either love or hate socks with sandals. I kind of love it..
Brands that make the most comfortable slides are: Reef, Fitflop, Telic, Dansko, Birkenstock, Freedom Moses, Oofos, and Magnafied.
Reef: In 1984, Fernando and Santi Aguerre, brothers from South America, founded REEF. Fernando and Santi walked everywhere, so they created sandals that could take them to the beach or into town in maximum comfort. Comfort was and is still their focus. I love the seasonal updates on their best selling slides.
Fitflop: Founded in 2007 to make shoes that could feel great after hours of wearing. Their styles are so cute and on trend too. It’s hard being both ultra comfortable and trendy at the same time and they nailed it.
Telic: This recovery footwear brand was founded in 2009 by Rocco Azzarito and Terry Stillman. Rocco and Terry both have a long history in the footwear industry and decided to partner with the idea of a recovery shoe. Their slides have great support and cradle your feet. They are incredibly comfortable and do what they claim. I can wear them all day and they are just as comfortable at the end of the day as they are at the beginning.
Dansko: Former horse trainers Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup were on a mission to find a comfortable barn shoe so they started selling them. Word of their comfortable clogs traveled quickly, and Dansko (meaning “Danish shoe”) was born in 1990. Dansko is known in industries where people are on their feet all day like nurses and chefs. The slides are brand new this season and are so comfortable.
Birkenstock: Since 1774, Birkenstock has been making quality shoes that are good for your feet. They are icons in the industry for comfort and support. I first tried this brand when they came out with the glitter styles. I couldn’t believe how comfortable they were. They really live up to the hype.
Freedom Moses: These slides are lightly scented of milk and honey. Their mission is to promote a chill lifestyle while not harming the Earth. One of the cool things about Freedom Moses is the huge style selection that is frequently updated. They feature trendy prints, glitter, and unique colors. Even though their slides are very comfortable they don’t have a lot of support if you need that.
Oofos: An active recovery footwear brand, designed to support your feet. OOFOS are powered by their proprietary OOfoam™ an innovative, cutting-edge material that absorbs 37% more impact designed to help you recover without slowing you down. Their slides are some of the most comfortable slides I have ever tried and they have a lot of support. These sandals are for everyone but If you have issues with your feet and need a recovery sandal, these are made for you.
Magnafied: Founded in 2014, by husband and wife team Magnus and Antonia. The brand is dedicated to maintaining natural resources by creating long-lasting products. Their sandals are incredibly comfortable and the footbed feels similar to Birkenstock but dare I say even more comfortable! All their shoes are handmade in Denmark.
My feet are 9 inches long which is in between a US 6 and 6.5. I’m mostly a EU36 but once in a while a 37. I’ll list the size I am in each style if that helps you decide your fit.
